Please allow me to use you as a sounding board Sam.
As I sat mulling over the days events it occurred to me in order to get a good handle on what is really going on with the latest story is the following"Thoughts from outside the box"
Now if the young man who has been described as the "lover " in this case with the lady from
let's just say the political world,if it is true as having been reported that "SHE " got the young man a loan and that he is a CO OWNER " OF A NEWLY OPENED RESTAURANT .............
Just who Sam is the other CO- OWNER ???? Now here Sam is where I need your help
If the "other 'co owner turns out to be a male friend and I do mean a "male friend" then perhaps the plot thickens .Now then should that turn out to be true then we have 2 co owners ...of let's just say a certain group and that certain group felt it was wronged by let's just say a statement that was made by the "lady "in question and to get even that group set out to do what is called commonly "A PAYBACK '. so this group that is being mentioned here did the plan .......
Now the "lady is in trouble as is the husband of the 'lady and now there will more likely
be a "BIG CHANGE at the office ....so Sam she's in trouble ,he is in trouble the office is in trouble and now the other partners at the office may gain control of the entire office.....
now here is the "BIG question ...........What Big Group set the plan in motion for the smaller group to take action so the young man would do what he did ?Thus leaving the real 'BIG group in charge of the whole "shabang?

As I read between the lines of cub's comment, I sense he may be on to something.
Ms. Robinson is not so popular with a certain segment of the community.
Namely . . . Gay rights group Stonewall voted her the UK Bigot of the Year 2008 while the gay news service Pink News landed her with the nickname "wicked witch of the north.
And not everyone subscribes to the biblical injunction to turn the other cheek or when reviled, not to revile again. Indeed some say 'Don't get mad . . get even', or as cub has said 'Payback'.
In connection with cub's comment . . . note these curious entries to the timeline BBC has constructed in this news item of Jan. 8 entitled 'Timeline: Peter and Iris Robinson affair allegations':
“6 June 2008: A day later, Iris Robinson's comments about gay people cause a massive outcry. She tells the BBC's Stephen Nolan that homosexuality is an "abomination" and that with help, gay people could be "turned around". Her comments were made in the same week that a gay man had been badly beaten in a homophobic attack.
June 2008: At the same time, the relationship between Iris Robinson and Kirk McCambley was growing more intense, and Mrs Robinson found a business opportunity for her young lover. Castlereagh Borough Council, on which she served, was advertising for a suitable tenant to run a café being built alongside a 200-year-old lock keepers' cottage on the banks of the River Lagan.

My analysis, for what it is worth?
Despite all the seeming "sensationalism and hilarity" of the ongoing situation, there is a very deadly game being played out in N.Ireland beneath the surface which if it goes the wrong way could ignite an all out civil war.
The general population of N.Ireland are totally unaware of this, they think it is all a game.
Gerry the Brit is most definitely not off the radar!
These are my thoughts, but I could be wrong.
