An amusing topic has received quite extensive coverage around the globe this week, it relates to female dress sense.  At a prestigious Women`s chess event a dress code was introduced???????


When did FEMALES ever need a dress code to tell them how to dress?  At first it seemed to be implemented in order to stop them distracting male opponents! 


It must be borne in mind the females playing in this particular tournament can beat 99% of all males who play chess so they do not have to resort to these tactics and I am sure none of them would dream of such a thing!

BOBBY FISCHER AND "BRITISH ISRAELISM"

Within the last few days Chessbase.com has published a very interesting article exploring the possibility the religious roguery of the "Worldwide Church of God" had a detrimental effect on the  well being of the late Bobby Fischer.



This is something I have suspected for quite some time but I had never read any articles where this possibilty was explored in any depth.


The "Worldwide Church Of God" was a major exponent of "British Israelism." One of its key figures was the charlatan Herbert W Armstrong.

The article is worth reading if you get the time as it looks at these matters from a secular viewpoint.


Here in N.Ireland quite a few people are sympathetic to the "British Israelite" message. I suspect at least two government ministers may hold BI views. However I would like to point out they most likely do not hold to the particular strain which is Anti-Semitic.  The most notorious BI exponent in N.Ireland was of course the infamous and mysterious William McGrath.


A debate flared up about this whole matter a number of years ago. It centered on the Biblical claims for and against "British Israelism." Here is a link where you can read the matter examined Biblically.

Just to make the whole thing really interesting, I would like to inform you there are Jews in Jerusalem who share many of the British Israelite viewpoints, though their worldview is very different and they would strongly reject being linked with "British Israelism."

If you were to say to most people in N.Ireland, “Google the name “Brian Eley chess” and spend 30 mins reading the information available about him on various forums, then tell me what conclusion you reach?”


This is the reaction you would get after the 30 mins was up. 


Most people after reading the information on the forums about Eley would conclude he was and possibly still is a member of MI5 or MI6.  That would explain why he has never been apprehended.

You will not believe this. Last year at a Chess tournament in Gibraltar I heard a term I had never heard used before. 


It is used to describe females who try to distract male chessplaying opponents by wearing a low cut tshirt or a low cut blouse! 
It is called playing the "Cleavage Gambit!"


It most likely never happens in real life. I am sure there absolutely NO female chess players who would stoop so low as to do such a thing!

BOBBY FISCHER AGAINST THE WORLD? OR SHOULD IT BE; BOBBY FISCHER AGAINST "SEDUCING SPIRITS?"

A friend has just lent me a DVD titled "Bobby Fischer Against The World."  Almost every aspect of Fischer`s life is so well documented it is hard to find anything new to say about him.  The DVD does not really come up with anything new.

One aspect of Fischer`s life is not very well investigated.  The time of his involvement with the religious charlatan  Herbert Armstrong`s Worldwide Church Of God.  These cults are very sinister, the one Armstrong led adhered to a form of "British Israelism."  It could well be that something Fischer was told here, or was subjected to here, helped to fuel his extreme anti-semitism.

Some of these "British Israelite" cults even believe the Jews in Israel today are not real Jews!  They have the crazy notion the real Jews are the peoples of N.America and Britian! 

Not surprisingly the various strands of crazy notions of British Israelism has quite a few adherents in N.Ireland!  At least one Terrocratic government minister is known to have a BI background.  As a matter of fact his ride up the greasy political pole is well worth closer scrutiny.

The most infamous "British Israelite" from N.Ireland was of course William McGrath the convicted paedophillic MI5 stooge. Quite a few people suspect the full story of McGrath has never been revealed yet!

Another well known "British Israelite" buffoon is the loony Alan Campbell. He used to have a boyfriend called "Stephen." There are rumours "Stephen" was actually a Kincora victim. I wonder if Stephen is still his boyfriend ?



Someday it will probably emerge that Herbert Armstrong`s movement was some sort of CIA mind control operation.

THE DISPUTE MANAGEMENT TEAM

This article may be totally useless, on the other hand it may be of a help to someone in the future who has a credit card transaction problem.

After using Credit cards for many years, both in over the counter and internet transactions I have had my first experience of Credit card controversy.

This is a picture of the Ali Babba Hotel Gibraltar.

Due to a serious credit card overcharge by the Ali Babba Hotel in Gibraltar.  It seeks to hide its seamy side by posing as the "Caleta Hotel" in Gibraltar.  I have had to seek out legal advice as to how I can get my money back. 

The first stage is to contact the credit card company I used for the transaction.  After doing this, I now find the company in question has what is called "A Dispute Management Team."

Anyone who has a transaction problem has to write to this team supplying all available documentation to support their case.  I am now in the process of doing this, though the drawback is, I have to waste valuable time writing letters, hunting up the necessary documentation, making phonecalls and other irritating tasks, while the culprits responsible for this predicament carry on with their normal business.

My experience of the Gibraltar tourist board during this debacle is that they are of no virtual use. They merely exist to forward any communication I send to the Ali Babba hotel.

This is the Ali Babba Hotel when it tries to portray itself as the Caleta Hotel.

If you are ever planning to go to Gibraltar and intend on staying in the Ali Babba hotel my advice to you is this.  Never trust them with your credit card details, pay them by cheque or cash and make absolutely sure they understand how many nights you are booking in for.  They seem to have a mathematics problem in Gibraltar, they cannot tell the difference between six and twelve.

The Caleta Hotel hosts a very prestigious Chess tournament every year in January.  Gibraltar is a British military garrison base.  The main chess tournament is scheduled to take place at 3pm daily. Just imagine the chaotic secenario there would be if they received bomb scares around 4pm daily? Their Chess tournament would be in ruins!

Babylonianism is the main religious influence in Gibraltar.  They do have problems understanding the ten commandments. The Babylonian commandments and their Jesuit expounding of them is distinctly different from that of Biblical Christianity.  They teach it is right to steal in certain circumstances. FEATURE ABOUT BELFAST`S BEST KNOWN HOTEL

The VBC website has a special feature about the Europa Hotel.  The picture above caught my attention you can see two of the old city center cinemas and the old Grand Opera House in the background as well as an old bus.

If I remember rightly the Odeon cinema was the most expensive in the city.  I do remember going to see Kelly`s Heroes there.  I think the well known phrase "think positive" may have originated from that movie, "don`t hit me with the negative waves" was also tranformed into English language folklore by that movie!

This weekend the Europa will be hosting the Ulster Chess Championships.  As far as I know unlike the English Chess Federation the Ulster Chess Federation is not headed by a deviant. 

Also, as far as I know, the Europa Hotel does not let people stay there for 6 nights then charge them for 12 nights, unlike the thieves in the Caleta Hotel in Gibraltar, or as it is better known the Ali Babba Hotel.

Also, as far as I know, no known chess cheats will be taking part in the tournament, unlike many other chess tournaments throughout the world. Chess sharks and Chess hustlers are everywhere.

UPDATE. I have just seen a new article after writing this. It is too soon to know whether it is a practical joke or not, but it features of all things, CHESS CHEATING.

This is a totally useless piece of information but it may amuse someone. The Ulster Chess Union is not recognised by FIDE the world chess governing body.  The reason being, the Ulster Chess Union does not have enough money to bribe the officials neccessary to facilitate such recognition.

It is better not being a member of FIDE as it is overseen by a total lunatic and most of the chessworld seem happy to have it so.
