The latest story doing the rounds demonstrates 3 things;1. The moral bankruptcy of the local media. Only someone with no morallity would try to portray this as a meaningful gesture of Republican good intentions.
2. The true nature of the IRA`s contempt for the Unionist Lundies......they now know beyond a shadow of a doubt neither party will bring down the gravy train no matter what action the IRA take. Republicans by giving this very public position to Bobby Storey is their way of rubbing Unionists noses in it. This announcement by the IRA comes just a short time after the IRA murdered a young man Paul Quinn.
3. An open manifestation of the simple fact, "the IRA have not gone away you know", they have not "become defunct", the IRA have now become the government institutions.
"The bomb,bullet,bank robbery and ballot box strategy" works if you have the backing of the Roman Catholic Church.
