BRENDAN EAMONN FERGUS FINUCANE DSO, DFC & two BARS
Known to all his friends as Paddy Finucane, was an Irishman serving in the RAF. Even though he was killed aged just 21, on 15th July 1942, whilst leading a "Ramrod" sweep (cannon and machine attack by fighters) against a German army camp at Etaples, France. Finucane had become one of the RAF`s wartime aces -claiming 32 victories. He was also the youngest Wing Commander in the history of the RAF.
