IF THEY CAN TAKE DOWN A PAISLEY, WHY NOT A ROBINSON?

Paisley pays price for political power

One of the few journalists with any credibilty is the author of the above article. Please read it carefully and I have a very special request for those who are wanting to make "anonymous" comments on this site. Please note the author of the above article puts his name to it!

Alan Murray was unofficially banned by the BBC some years ago because he had been sceptical about the so-called "peace process." Consider this following section of his article, then ask yourself is he telling lies?

"It's understood that members of Mr Paisley's family - including his wife, Lady Eileen and son Ian, a junior minister at Stormont - urged him to fight to remain Moderator in the hope that his most vociferous critics within the church would come to accept his dual role in the new year."

Said one senior DUP politician: "A strategy was agreed based on the expectation that his most severe critics within the church would dissipate or moderate their views about his dual role with Martin McGuinness, but in the party we did not believe that would happen.
"Within the senior levels in the party we believe that it is not just unlikely, but improbable that those within the church who are opposed to his role with Martin McGuinness will, over any period of time, accept that Mr Paisley can work with McGuinness and spiritually fulfil his role as Moderator of their church.

"You are dealing here with opponents who pursue issues with a fundamental zeal and who do not yield as politicians do to developments in the wider world. Myself and many others felt that in the longer term Ian's role as the Free Presbyterian Moderator was untenable as long as he remained as First Minister working with Martin McGuinness," said the politician, who wished to remain anonymous.

If my memory serves me correctly Ian Paisley once quipped something like this,"We got rid of a captain, why not a major!"
