DAILY REMINDER FOR THE SPIRIT FILLED CHURCH

The Spirit of Laodicea that is!
The Pink Presbyterian Theological Ostrich

It is 23:15pm Friday 4th April 2008. The Pink Presbyterian denomination has had from the 13th Oct 2006 until now to condemn the St Andrews Agreement and all it outworking as "Unbiblical, unethical and immoral." They have failed to do so, they have also failed to discipline Pink Presbyterians who have enthusiastically supported and perpetrated the subsequent wickedness.
WHY???

Tycoon guilty of assaulting man

Seymour Sweeney arriving at court
Millionaire developer Seymour Sweeney has been given a one month suspended sentence for common assault.

Sweeney, 56, was also fined £500 after a magistrate at a court in Coleraine found him guilty of grabbing a man.

Swimming coach James Cunning alleged Sweeney, of Ardihannon House, Runkerry, had grabbed him by the throat him after accusing him of trespass.

The north Antrim property tycoon denied using excessive force during the incident in July 2006.

Mr Cunning and his partner Catherine Loughrey had walked onto the land - a short distance from the Giant's Causeway - to look at a property they believed was on sale.

Sweeney told the court the couple had been repeatedly told by himself and other residents that there was no home on the market and they were trespassing on private property.

However, Magistrate Rosie Waters did not accept his claim that when he physically confronted Mr Canning he only briefly placed his hands on his shoulders and politely told him to leave.

"He couldn't give a satisfactory explanation as to what he had intended by laying his hands on him," she said.

Mr Cunning claimed the developer sped up to the couple in his Range Rover, narrowly missing Ms Loughrey, and subjected them to a volley of abusive language.

"Mr Sweeney grabbed me by the neck with his two hands and shook me like a rag doll," he said.

This version of events was supported by Ms Loughrey.

James Cunning said he had been grabbed

"I was in such a state of shock I nearly fainted," she said.

Sweeney, however, said he had driven to the estate after residents had raised serious concerns about two strangers who were walking in and around the entrance to private apartments on the estate.

He also denied using abusive language or causing injury.

He said a number of people with high profile jobs lived in grounds and earlier in year the PSNI had been called after another security breach.

"I certainly did not put my hands around his neck and throttle him," he said.

A gardener on the estate Keith Jones, who was present when the incident took place, denied his employer had been violent.

Two police officers and a doctor that all examined Mr Cunning's neck in the wake of the incident said they could not see any visible signs of injury.

Ms Waters rejected the defence's assertion that the Crown had failed to prove a case of assault beyond reasonable doubt and found Sweeney guilty of the charge.

Mr Sweeney's barrister Jim Gallagher indicated the defendant was likely to appeal the verdict.

Have had problems with my internet connection over past few days. Did see this story in newspaper in Tescoes. Sweeney seems to be having a hard time avoiding bad publicity doesn`t he?
