Secret sinister activities have always been the halmark of powerful evil men.
Whenever individuals in places of authority enjoy being individuals in places of authority they will stoop to any depth in a bid to hold on to their power. Spying and the use of agents have been used by all powers. The great ability spies or agents have is the capacity to "feign themselves." (Perhaps I should have said "Sinn Fein themselves" ). Those sent to watch and ensare Christ obviously had the ability to look, sound and act just as real believers!
Calls for a Truth Commission to bring to light the secret dealings of the British Intelligence services and "Loyalist" paramilitaries feature prominently in the news at the moment. The secret dealings that has went on between "Republican" and British Intelligence agencies would be a bigger story. There are already indiciations the same type of unit which operated in N.Ireland is operating in the British sector in Iraq. Most likely there is some unscrupulous "Ali Bey Scapatteci" already at work in all the "insurgent" groups in Iraq. Not to mention a whole raft of Shi` ite and Sunni "community workers".
Secrets can be brought to light in the most unexpected ways.
According to Jewish historians Mordechai was a man of learning who knew many languages. When the conspirators discussed murdering the king in his presence they assumed he did not understand what they were saying. They also did not realise he was related to the Queen!
Esther 2: 21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king's gate, two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hands on the king Ahasuerus. 22 And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai's name. 23 And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.
Secrets can be covered up for some time.
Powerful men and governments can use all their resources to keep the truth from the public for a very long time. The British government still bans publication of some official secrets regarding WW2. Mordecai saved the life of the king but the whole truth did not emerge for some time. God`s providence intervened whenever the King started to suffer from sleeplessness. Sleeplessness sealed the doom of Haman

God could trouble the conscience of former intelligence officers and cause them to reveal all they know about "the dirty war". I do not think there will be to many "Republican" heroes left standing in such an event.
